Effective April 1^st Adak Eagle Enterprises is raising the package prices on Cable, Broadband and Cellular.  In keeping the quality of service that we work hard to bring to our customers, we have to keep up with the rising costs.  We are confident that you, our customer will agree that we should not sacrifice the quality we strive for.

We will be offering new cellular packages that will let you pick and choose the plan you want with local, long distance, texting and roaming.  We are also offering data with the plans.  Any customer that chooses a one year contract will receive 25% off a new phone of their choosing and a customer that chooses a two year contract will receive a 50% discount on a new phone of their choosing.

To ALL Windy City Cellular Customers,

Windy City Cellular is striving to have the best quality of service and we are working to get the technology to our customers for the features we know you want to have and use.

One way we can provide service best to our customers is having the farthest retail cellular store in the Aleutian chain.  We are having a Grand Opening on January 9th thru the 11th.  The store is located in the High School next to the post office.  There, our customers will have access to the products we have to offer along with the knowledgeable staff to match our plans with your cellular needs.

During our Grand Opening, we are switching all SIM cards in our customer’s phones.  This is necessary as the new SIM cards will be better equipped to provide the uninterrupted service in calls and also to provide better technology in the instance of an international calling plan our company will soon be implementing.

It is very important that you refer to the manual that came with your phone with the instructions in backing up your contacts, music, photos to your phone and or computer.  This needs to be done to be able to transfer that information to your new SIM card.  We will transfer your contacts for you if necessary at time of SIM transfer.  At some point, the current SIM card in your phone will not work and it will be necessary to have the new SIM card.

If you will not be in Adak, please call our Anchorage office to make arrangements to have your SIM card be transferred properly.  If the SIM card needs to be mailed, we will mail it certified.

This includes all Pre-Paid Cellular customers as well.

To ALL Windy City Cellular Customers,

Windy City Cellular is striving to have the best quality of service and we are working to get the technology to our customers for the features we know you want to have and use.

Beginning December 6th we will be in the process of a conversion from our prior cellular support to a new support. All our customers’ cellular phones will be temporarily “roaming” until January when we will be switching all sim cards. The roaming during this time will be at no charge to our customers. You will still have the same calling features during this time of conversion. There should be no interruption in service for our customers.

The new sim cards will be better equipped to provide the uninterrupted service in calls and also provide better technology. On January 9th, we will be having an “Open House” for our new retail store and providing new sim cards. We look forward to a one on one “Meet and Greet”. If you have any questions regarding your cellular service, please call the Anchorage office.

2012 Cover Contest

ATU is soliciting photos from our customers for the 2012 Directory Cover.  Please submit your top photos of people, places and things.  The winner will receive a $150.00 Walmart Gift Card.

Official rules

1. Entries must depict images within the boundary of the Adak ATU service area.  Photos mailed in must be at least 3 ½ x 5”.  Address is:  ATU Directory Cover 1410 Rudakof Circle, Anchorage, AK   99508.  Entries can also be emailed to rcrews@adaktu.net

2. Entrant must be a customer of Adak Eagle Enterprises, LLC and live within the ATU service area.  Each entrant can submit up to ten (10) entries.

3. All entries must be RECEIVED at the Anchorage office no later than December 17, 2011.  Submission of any entry constitutes the entrant’s agreement that ATU may reproduce the photo on the 2012 Directory cover and other ATU publications.  ATU will not be responsible for any loss or damage to photos submitted.

Please be sure to include with your photos your name, address, and phone number to contact if you are the 2012 Directory Cover Contest Winner.

Our extended coverage will provide more mobility to our Windy City Cellular customers.  Our White Alice cell site project started in Spring year 2011 and will be completed and be providing service by Christmas.

We want to thank Alaska Airlines. They not only carried all the Anchorage employees to Adak but also the food and supplies needed for the day of the BBQ. The airline crew on Adak did a great job of unloading the plane and making sure our food and supplies came through safely.

We had a great time that day and we could not have done this without our “Adak Community” coming to the BBQ. It was wonderful to see everyone, make new friends and visit with old ones, and especially watching the children playing and having a good time!

The NAF surcharge will increase to $3.75 and that fee helps to partially compensate your local telephone company for the cost of installation and maintenance of the telephone wire that links your home or business to the in-state telephone network.

The AUSF rate will increase to 9.3% and the AUSF is a state program that helps keep telephone service rates affordable for all Alaskans. Our “Lifeline Program” is subsidized by this program so qualifying low income customers can get basic local service.

The RCA Surcharge increased on your July billing up to .787% and that covers the commission’s budget to help operate and the RCA regulates public utilities to ensure adequate services at reasonable rates.
